Barry Francois is a 33 year old personal chef, caterer and entrepreneur from the Bronx, NY. Barry was introduced to fresh fruits and vegetables at an early age, which has followed him all the way into his adulthood.
In 2012, Barry won $12,500 in the SHAPE Charlotte to start up Queen City Mobile Market, which was Charlotte’s first mobile farmer’s market. The focus for QC Mobile Market is to supply fresh fruits, vegetables and meals to areas in Charlotte that do not have easy access to these services.
Since then, Barry has been busy getting out his message about the importance of eating fresh fruits and veggies. You can always find him around Charlotte; whether it’s teaching local elementary students how to cook or feeding the less fortunate. Barry has also partnered up with many businesses to help promote nutritional education. Those companies include Friendship Trades, YMCA, Enterprise Car Rental, CIS (Community in School), and YBN (Young Black Males).
